User PolicyNo food, drink, or tobacco products allowed in lab. Food or drink can either be stowed in your bag or on the cart at the foot of the stairs leading into the lab. The lab is available to all students, and should be a place where all students can work without distraction. Anybody utilizing the labs’ facilities should do so with respect to those around them. Users who cause disruptions may be asked to leave. Please do not touch the monitor faces. If you want to print on a different kind of paper than we have in our printers, please check with the consultant on duty before doing so. Consultants are available to assist with and answer questions about technical issues. It is not their responsibility to do homework for the users in the lab. Valid OSU ID is required for entry. Users should have ID’s ready when they arrive to check in to the lab. As a courtesy we will allow the use of just a university ID number a maximum of 5 times as it is recorded in our system. Campus computers are not to be used to pirate software or perform any illegal activities. Failure to comply may result in account disablement and a banning from the lab. The main purpose of the lab is to provide students and faculty a place to work on school-related material. If the lab is full, those who are gaming may be asked to give up their computers or return to school related tasks. If there is a waiting list for computers in Hovland 108, a two hour limit will be enforced. As computers are needed, we ask those who have been logged on longest to yield the computer. These users are welcome to add their name to the waiting list. Computers in use may not be left unattended for longer than 15 minutes. If you need to leave the lab, please inform the consultant on duty. If a computer is unattended for more than the allotted time, there is a chance that it will be logged out or power cycled.
