RECONNECTING MEDIA IN FINAL CUT PRO

 

  1. Drag and drop your project file from your ONID account to the desktop. Close ONID window.

 

  1. Double-click project file to launch FCP

 

  1. Note missing offline files. Ignore missing render files. > OK

 

 

  1. Hide FCP

 

  1. Go to class folders via Fetch (or wherever you stored your media) and drag and drop missing offline files to Desktop

 

  1. Re-activate FCP. Hold down the Command (Apple) key and select each missing file in the Browser window and the Sequence icon.

 

  1. Select File > Reconnect Media

 

  1. Select the following Reconnect Options > OK

 

  1. In Reconnect window, do the following:

(1) Select Desktop

(2) Note the file FCP is looking for

(3) Select the file that matches

(4) Make sure Reconnect All Files in Relative Path is checked

(5) Choose

 

 

TROUBLESHOOTING – If an offline file is not on the desktop (or in a folder on the Desktop such as the Capture Scratch folder), you won’t be able to re-connect. Select the “Skip File” button. Hopefully, it is not a crucial file in your timeline that you have lost!!
